Buccal fat pad removal and/or liposuction of the cheeks and neck.

These patients complained of the fullness present in their lower cheeks (chipmunk pouch area) or neck.  The buccal fat pad is removed through the mouth and has the potential of flattening the lower cheek bulge and highlighting the cheekbone. It is best used for someone who feels that their cheeks are round and full regardless of their weight.  For severe cases, liposuction may be performed simultaneously (though usually isn't).

Excess neck fat can be removed with liposuction depending upon whether the fat is immediately beneath the skin layer, or located deeper beneath the muscles of the neck.  For patients with weak chins, a chin implant often improves the profile and strengthens the neck profile.
